near the
Ouachita
National Forest.
Trout
Fishermen seem to be
drawn like a magnet
to the newly
rehabilitated
Mountain Fork River trout
area.

This park is one of
the best parks for
fishing, canoeing,
and hiking in our
Oklahoma state Park
system. The
hiking
trails wander all
over the park, some
following a
beautiful steam,
others just seem to
disappear into the
forest with the
sounds of birds
replacing all other
"noise".
Kids love this park,
almost as much as
the fishermen. The
park has paddle
boats, horse rides,
an awesome nature
center,
Marina, and to top
off the list a train
to ride at Beavers
Bend Depot inside
the park!
While at Beavers
Bend Nature center
look at the activity
list and also pick
up an Oklahoma
Junior Naturalist
work book for the
kids, this program
will enhance their
outdoor experience
and upon completion
they receive a nice
certificate.
RV
camping in Area "B"
is our favorite, it
is also right next
to the Nature
Center, but some
other areas range
from secluded (Area
"F") to right by the
river (Area "A").
RV sites can only be
reserved in area
"B", with at least 2
weeks notice, and up
to a year in
advance. Beaver Bend also has
a Resort
Lodge-Lakeview
Lodge, Cabins, and
group shelters.
There is nice little
restaurant at
Beavers Bend Resort
Park that offers a
tasty breakfast and
an all-you-can-eat
catfish dinner.
While there be sure
to visit the
Forest Heritage
Center.
