Bernice State Park,
Oklahoma
Located near
Bernice, (which is
known as the Crappie
Capital of the
World), Bernice State
Park is a great lake
front destination.
The
park offers lake
access from it's
boat ramp with
courtesy dock, and
has a long beach to
swim and enjoy the
northwestern shores
of Grand Lake.
Fishing is very
popular in the park,
as well as wildlife
viewing.
Our
favorite thing to do
at Bernice State
Park is to visit the
Nature Center. This
is the newest and
one of the largest
nature centers in
our parks system.
The animal and fish
exhibits
and
kids activities are
a huge benefit to
staying at Bernice,
and the Naturalists
at the nature center
are always friendly.
We felt like we
really learned
something new from
our visit.
Bernice
park has nice
walking trails, and
a night time walk
along the lake is
very beautiful,
especially with moonlight shining on the
lake.
Many
of the RV sites in
the campground have
a lake front view,
and all are spaced
out enough to allow
room to breathe. We
like RV sites 1-14
with 23 being our
personal favorite.
Darryl
Starbird's National
Rod & Custom Car
Hall of Fame Museum
is close by and is
well worth a visit.
