Crowder Lake State Park, Oklahoma

Located near Colony, Crowder Lake State Park is no longer a "State Park", it is now run by Southwestern Oklahoma State university.

In 2003 the park was renamed Crowder Lake University Park, but was still park of the Oklahoma State Park Guide when we visited it.

Crowder Lake University Park is now a great teaching tool for SWOSU University and currently there is a rehabilitation plan going on to rehabilitate Crowder Lake Dam. Other activites and programs are in place to teach  students about various skills related to their Department of Parks and Recreatrion Management degree programs.

The park has a Rope Course, 5 shaded rv sites, boating, an interpretive trail, and is designated as a Trophy Bass Lake by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.

Crowder is part of the Great Plains Trail of Oklahoma Caddo Loop.

 Note: Park gates close 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.
