Lake Eufaula State Park, Oklahoma

Located between Eufaula and Checotah Oklahoma, home town of Carrie Underwood, Lake Eufaula is Oklahoma's largest Lake. The lake was formed in 1964 and President Lyndon B. Johnson dedicated Eufaula Dam.

Lake Eufaula State Park is a boating paradise and has a nearby marina. One of our favorite things is the small nature center and the activities for the kids. Hiking Trails are nice and located throughout the park. A golf course, air strip, stables, indoor fishing dock and swimming beach are also located in the park.

The state park is surrounded by the lake and is spread out with several RV sites having lake views. Deep Fork and Lake View Circle areas are the most popular RV sites.

Famous outlaw Belle Star's grave is located just north of Eufaula Dam,  and Frank & Jesse James have a history in the area well.

Civil war history buffs need to see Honey Springs Battlefield located just outside Checotah. The Battle of Honey Springs was the largest battle to take place in Indian Territory. The next battle reenactment will be held September 27-28 2008.

Eufaula celebrates Whole Hawg Days every summer with car shows, a parade, and other fun festivities. July 25th-27th 2013.

Arrowhead State Park is located o the South of Eufaula State Park.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fishing is also excellent on Lake Eufaula and that several state record fish have been caught in it's waters.
