Lake Keystone State
Park, Oklahoma
Located
near
Sand Springs,
Keystone State Park
is situated right on
Lake Keystone,
and is another one
of our favorites
places. The park is
very beautiful and
has a lot to do both
inside the park and
a little further
down the road in
Tulsa.
Keystone
State Park has a
fitness trail,
Keystone Mountain
Bike Trail, a
very nice marina:
Pier 51 with
Restaurant, a
community building,
and some of the best
looking cabins in
the park system,
some complete with
Jacuzzis.
Lake
Country RV area has
full RV hookups, and
some sights sit
closer to the water
for a nice rear
view. Green Country
RV area is closer to
the marina, but felt
a little more
crowded to us.
Eagle
watches are very
popular at Keystone,
the winter months
are prime viewing
times. The Eagles
can be seen below
the Dam from an
observation
platform.
Lake
Keystone also has an
ORV 4x4 area called
Appalachia Bay
that is very popular
and is located near
Keystone Dam.
Tulsa Audubon
Society Guide to
Birding Keystone
Lake.
Tulsa
attractions include:
Tulsa Zoo,
Gilcrease Museum,
Discovery land-home
to the musical
Oklahoma!,
Philbrook Museum of
Art, and the
Oklahoma Aquarium
in Jenks.
A
couple of nice
little nature
preserves great for
day hiking close by
are:
Oxley Nature Center,
and Red Bud Valley.
Please check their
website for more
information and
hours.
Walnut
Creek State Park
is close by.
