Natural Falls State
Park, Oklahoma
Located near the
Oklahoma - Arkansas
State Lines Natural
Falls State Park is a peaceful,
laid back park where
relaxing takes a
front seat.
We
love this little
park; the 77 foot
waterfall is the
main attraction, so
the walk to the
falls is a must see.
However, this park
excels at slow
nature hikes and
quiet relaxation.
Close by recreation
like the
Illinois
River and all the
canoe trips it has
to offer make
Natural Falls a
great place to stay
and enjoy after a
hard days play.
The RV area is nice,
the outer edges
offer the most
privacy; site
numbers like 8,9,10,
and the "Bluff Line"
sites
14,15,16,17,18,19
are very nice
but there is no
"bad" site to be
found. RV sites may
be reserved up to a
year in advance by
calling the park
office. Our personal
favorite is site
#14, although it
does not have full
hookups (sewer) it
is secluded and very
private door side as
well as to the rear
which has a bluff
view. Sites
4,5,6,7,20,21,22 do
have full hookups.
Site 11 is also very
good and private
door side.
Natural
Falls has a catch
and release only
small 3-1/2 acre
lake area stocked
with fish. The area
is located down
stream from the
falls area and the
water is crystal
clear, this area is
part of the 1-1/2
mile nature trail
and is a great way
to view the park.
Improvements
have been made to
Bear Trail making it
a much more
enjoyable hike.
For
family reunions,
weddings, and
get-togethers, there
is an outdoor
pavilion that can be
rented as well as an
indoor meeting area
located beside the
main park office.
Nature Falls also
has a very nice
playground area,
along with ball
fields.
At
the bottom of the
falls there is a
bench for
relaxation. Bring your camera,
and enjoy the falls
at different times
of the day for some
neat pictures.
