at Osage Hills State
Park
Located near
Bartlesville
Oklahoma, Osage
Hills State Park
offers up a peaceful
slice of nature.
We
enjoy this park for
many reasons, but
ironically its
location is the
number one reason.
Nearby attractions
like
Woolaroc and
The Tall Grass
Prairie make
Osage Hills a great
base for family fun
and education. Also
close by in the
historic town of
Dewey is
the
Tom Mix museum,
Dewey Hotel Museum,
and
Prairie Song.
They celebrate the
Tom Mix Festival
yearly . The Tom
Mix Festival and
Prairie Song Wild
West Show are can't
miss events and will
be held September.
The park has great
hiking trails, a
swimming pool, a
large playground for
the kids, and some
excellent fishing.
12 ft. row boats can
be rented from the
park office to help
your fishing or
wildlife viewing
experience.
There are nice
little
waterfalls
along "Falls Trail",
bring your camera
and enjoy the hike.
Bluffs make a nice
view point off the
Cedar Loop Trail.
The Osage Hills
Mountain Bike Trail
is very popular and
is maintained by
Adventure Bicycle
Center in nearby
Bartlesville. Maps
of the
Mountain Bike
Trail system are
available in the
Park Office, also
check schedule for
races on the trail.
Many areas have
wildlife viewing
opportunities,
especially the wild
Turkey population
near the park
office.
RV
camping is nice and
peaceful, with 20
semi-modern sites.
We really like "G"
"H" and "I" RV sites;
and all are
first come first
serve, no
reservations. "C"
and "O" RV sites are
pull thru. The park has cabins,
Group camp,
and a nice tent
area.
