this park has
something for
everyone, cowboy or
not.

Oh, don't forget
about the nice new
paved trails!!!
We
really enjoy this
park not just
because it is close
by, but we go back
time and again and
never get bored
because there is so
much to see and do.
Sequoyah Western
Hills has a great
lake for boating,
fishing, and skiing.
Fort Gibson lake has
19900 surface acres of
water to enjoy. But
if you don't have a
boat to float, you
will still enjoy
your stay,
especially if you
enjoy the outdoors.
The Nature Center is
great, with many
snakes, and animals
native to Oklahoma
to view and if you
check the time you
can watch them feed.
Behind the Nature
Center is Fossil
Trail with nice
views of the lake
and if you look
carefully at the
rocks by the waters
edge you can see the
many fossils that
give the trail its
name.
Western Hills lodge
offers several
activities from bow
and arrow targets to
dance lessons. We
also enjoy the food
at the restaurant
and our son likes
the game room
located there as
well. A swimming
pool is located at
the lodge and tennis
courts offer
sporting activities
too.
Trails vary from
hiking, mountain
biking, and horse
back riding. The
Sequoyah Riding Stables also offer
pony rides for the
younger kids to
enjoy.
RV
camping is spread
out, we fancy the
Cherokee area the
best with its
concrete pads, and
water views. Full
hookups can be found
in Choctaw RV area.
RV sites can be
reserved by calling
the park office
direct. Take note
that this is a
problem at this park
due to lack of a
proper RV
reservation system
and many RV sites
damaged by flooding.
Cabins, Lodge and
tent area are also
available.
