US Army Corps of Engineers evaluating options for future of Walnut Creek State Park on Keystone Lake press release from 7/9/2014

Located near Prue, Oklahoma on Lake Keystone, and to the north of Keystone State Park, Walnut Creek is a small park with a more rugged setting on the lake.

Walnut Creek is more famous for it's equestrian trail, Sand Plum Trail, which is 15 miles long. Sand Plum Trail has many scenic views of the lake and Hitching Post campground at Walnut Creek State Park is a favorite area for equestrians to stay.

If horses and cowboys are your idea of fun, the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show and Ranch is located about 35 miles to the west.

We did not stay overnight at Walnut Creek , we preferred Keystone State Park, but if you do have  horses Walnut Creek is a great place to stay and ride.
